A virtuoso composer and guitarist, Cano was selected by renowned guitarist Gerardo Nuñez to contribute a piece to "La nueva escuela de guitarra flamenca" - a CD released in 2003 showcasing the work of young musicians that Nuñez felt were redefining flamenco guitar. Cano's debut album, "Son de ayer" was released in 2008.
Cano also has a formidable performance track record, having played for such outstanding dancers as Sara Baras, Merche Esmeralda, Belén Maya, Rafaela Carrasco and Andrés Marín. Most recently he has been collaborating with Concha Jareño, who performed earlier this year in Dublin's Button Factory.
