Felipe de Algeciras returns to Dublin this month to teach a two-day dance and rhythm workshop

Flamenco aficionados in Dublin will have an opportunity to study with acclaimed flamenco dancer and choreographer Felipe de Algeciras on September 18th and 19th.

Felipe will teach the flamenco rhythm and dance workshops in:

  • YMCA on Aungier Street (Friday 18th September, 7:00pm-10:00pm)
  • DanceHouse on Foley Street (Saturday 19th September, -12:00pm to 5:00pm).

After the workshops, there will be a social gathering in Le Cirk on Dame Street, which will start at 8pm and which will close with a short performance from guest artist Felipe de Algeciras.

About Felipe de Algeciras

Felipe de Algeciras is a renowned Spanish dancer and choreographer who has over 17 years experience performing and teaching flamenco abroad. Felipe has also worked as a dancer and choreographer on a number of cinema projects. On the sound track for “The Mask of Zorro” with Antonio Banderas, Felipe’s footwork provides the rhythm and percussive accompaniment to the guitar of Salvador Andrades and Tito Heredia. In “Dot the I” starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Felipe worked on set and choreographed a flamenco piece for Natalia Verbeke, which she performed with singer Olayo Jimenez and guitarist Tito Heredia.

Felipe is based in Algeciras, Cádiz.
