Teaching Principles
Dublin Flamenco School is based in the Liffey Trust Studios (Dublin 1), and offers a wide range of weekly classes and monthly master classes aimed at adults and children.
Its main objective is to provide students with a strong foundation in Flamenco and teach them about dance and rhythm, but also about the history and traditions of this rich artform. Classes are taught both in English and Spanish.
Professional Spanish dancer & choreographer Felipe de Algeciras is the artistic director and lead teacher of Dublin Flamenco School.
Based in Andalucía, in Southern Spain, Felipe visits Dublin once a month to teach intensive master classes with a dual focus on technique and choreography. Under his guidance, Nathalie Moyano González is in charge of leading weekly classes and takes students through a comprehensive syllabus defined for each 6-week term.
Continuous mentoring from Spanish professionals is a key requirement for Dublin Flamenco School and, under the guidance of Felipe de Algeciras and other guest teachers, students receive the best tuition possible.
In 2012, Dublin Flamenco School will present its first student show under the direction of Felipe de Algeciras.Voluntary performance is encouraged amongst the school's full time students. It is important to note however that classes are never taught with a focus on performance but always with a strong focus on education and training.
