Damian was first introduced to flamenco in the late 90s, when his love of guitar led him to a show in Vicar St by a group of visiting Spanish artists. Although it was the guitar that originally drew his interest, it was the emotion and intensity of the singing and the passion and energy of the dancing that left the greatest impression. He was able to draw many parallels between the cante of flamenco and the sean nós singing of Irish tradition, but for the dance he had no comparison; it was unlike anything he had ever seen.

Born in Southern France to Andalusian parents, Natalia (as her family and friends call her), is a translator & interpreter by profession and flamenco aficionado by heritage. Growing up with her father singing flamenco at home, she studied ballet from the age of 6 and learned other forms of dance, only finding a flamenco class near home before relocating to Ireland for work at the end of 2002.

El pueblo de Mojácar, se encuentra asentado en las estribaciones de Sierra Cabrera y a sólo 2 km del mar Mediterraneo, que baña sus diecisiete kilómetros de costa.

Población en invierno: 4500 habitantes.
Población en verano: 30.000 habitantes.

Temperatura media: 21 º C.

Ha sido utilizado en Mojácar, desde tiempos remotos, cuando la gente lo conocía como “Muñeco Mojaquero”, ya que los primeros viajeros románticos, lo encontraban pintado en las fachadas de las casas, dónde los habitantes de Mojácar lo pintaban con los restos de cal, que utilizaban para pintar las fachadas de sus casas, con objeto de ahuyentar el “mal de ojo” y preservarla de las tormentas.
