Also known as the “Mojácar Puppet”, the Indalo has been used in Mojácar since ancient times. The town´s women when finishing their houses white wall washing, would draw this symbol over the doors to keep away from their homes bad spells or storms. It is related to the cave paintings found in “the sign cave” in Vélez Blanco, of Mediterranean origin, and it is dated back to 2.500 B.C.

Presently the Indalo is the symbol of the whole province of Almería, its gracious ambassador and messanger of luck, for those that visit us as well, no doubt.
