Flamenco para todos in Dublin

Peña Flamenca El Indalo announce a weekend of flamenco workshops and performances, with the exceptional participation of Spanish singer Olayo Jiménez.

Following on from the success of their monthly events, Peña Flamenca El Indalo announce another weekend of flamenco workshops and performances for Friday 19 and Saturday 20 March.

This month sees an expanded programme of workshops that will provide theoretical and practical tuition in cante (singing), compás (rhythm), palmas (clapping) and baile (dancing), and will be taught by Spanish professionals Felipe de Algeciras and Olayo Jiménez, accompanied by guitarist and percussionist Lucas González.

Two singing, rhythm and clapping workshops will take place on Friday 19 March in The LAB on Foley St, Dublin 1: the first starting at 6:00pm and the second at 7:30pm. Each will last an hour and a half and focus on a particular palo (musical form). An additional singing, rhythm and clapping workshop will be held in The Cobblestone Bar, Smithfield, at 7:00pm on Saturday 20 March, before the artists take to the stage.

Two dance workshops will also be held in DanceHouse on Foley St on Saturday 20 March: the first starting at 12:00pm and the second starting at 1:30pm. Both dance workshops will be accompanied by live singing and guitar.
